Rose Paving Co., one of the contractors serving on the Pavement Maintenance & Reconstruction Advisory Board, has been named a Chicago Tribune Top Workplace for 2010 in the small-sized company category. One hundred companies, organizations, and agencies were honored at an awards ceremony on November 9 hosted by the Chicago Tribune. It's the first time the awards, given for measured qualities including company leadership, career opportunities, workplace flexibility, and compensation & benefits were presented to Chicago-area companies.
"We are thrilled and honored to be ranked as one of the Top 100 Workplaces in Chicago. At Rose Paving, we truly place an emphasis on workplace satisfaction, innovation, and flexibility," said Ed Campbell, Rose Paving president. "We have a "Great Place to Work Team" that strives to create a fun, engaging environment for our entire staff. At times like these, nothing is more important than a satisfied, productive team of employees. This, in turn, helps us to continue providing top-notch service to our clients."
Rose Paving owner Alan Rose has been a member of the Pavement Advisory Board since 1997, assisting in guidance of National Pavement Expo (NPE) and the Pavement magazine. At the 2011 NPE, Feb. 2-5 in Nashville, he will present a seminar titled "Setting the S.T.A.G.E. for a Successful Promotional Event," which offers a step-by-step outline of how to plan, fund, and benefit from events such as an open house, picnic, or reception. The Tribune rankings were based on a survey conducted by Workplace Dynamics LLC of Chicago-area employers with at least 100 local employees. More than 1,300 companies were invited to participate, and 220 companies registered. Workplace Dynamics then divided the list into 3 categories: small (fewer than 250 employees), medium (250-999), and large (1,000 and above) and surveyed each company's employees about their feelings toward their workplace.
