NYC Remains World's Most Expensive City for Building

NYC and San Francisco made the top five of most expensive cities to build while the Seattle and San Francisco markets were identified as "overheating"

With an average cost of $362 per square foot, New York City is once again the most expensive place to build in the world. According to Turner & Townsend's 2018 International Construction Market Survey, NYC had a 3.5% year-over-year increase last year with another 3.5% increase expected in 2018.

Coming in a close second is San Francisco with an average cost of $347 per square foot. Hong Kong, Zurich and London round out the top five.
