Terry Allen, president of Webber Rental Supply in Galesburg, IL, has worked within the construction industry for 41 years and has been in the rental business the last 18 of those years. As he described it, 2016 wasn’t a very good year for his store, but 2017 was better and this year promises to be better yet.
The one challenge is help. “It seems like everyone who wants to work and is able to work has a job already,” he added. “That’s the main reason we didn’t go to The Rental Show in New Orleans this year. Just too much to do with the help we have. Next year might be different, though, and we always try to make the show every few years if we can.”
Allen said his store focuses on the contractor market and looks to continue to upgrade its fleet of construction equipment. “Being in a rural area, our market doesn’t change like it does in some parts of the country, hence, we’re not planning on adding anything really new or different to our rental inventory this year.”
