Sunbelt Rentals Inc., Fort Mill, SC, has purchased Orlando, FL-based Southern Boom and Scissors.
It was reported in Lift and Access that owner Rick Slater made the decision to sell his niche business based on the need for additional equipment. "The current state of credit markets did not allow me to secure the capital to fund the expansion of the business, especially in our newer South Florida operation," Slater said.
Southern is a specialist rental organization catering to the substantial convention and trade show business in the Orlando and the Miami areas. Slater will oversee his real estate investments and pursue other business opportunities. Plans call for the operations to continue under the Sunbelt name with the improved access to fleet, allowing for the ability for these branches to respond better to seasonal demands.
