Skyjack President Appointed A92.22 Chairman of SAIA Sub-Committee

Brad Boehler, president of Skyjack, was recently appointed chairman of the A92.22 sub-committee when the Scaffold & Access Industry Association (SAIA) held its 2011 annual meeting in Las Vegas.

Brad Boehler, president of Skyjack, was recently appointed chairman of the A92.22 sub-committee when the Scaffold & Access Industry Association (SAIA) held its 2011 annual meeting in Las Vegas.

Other appointments include Brent Hoover, JLG Industries, who was named chairman of the A92.20 sub-committe, and Frank Bonesteel, New York State Department of Transportation, who was installed as the A92.24 sub-committee chairman.

Also at the meeting, SAIA A92 members voted and approved three new sub-committees:
A92.20 - Design of manually propelled, self-propelled and boom-supported aerial work platforms and under-bridge vehicle-mounted inspection work platforms.
A92.22 - Safe use of manually propelled, self-propelled and boom-supported aerial work platforms and under-bridge vehicle-mounted inspection work platforms.
A92.24 – Training to operate, inspect and maintain manually propelled, self-propelled and boom-supported aerial work platforms and under-bridge vehicle-mounted inspection work platforms.

The newly formed sub-committees will begin work in January 2012. All applications considered for subcommittee membership must be received by Nov. 21, 2011. All applications received by Nov. 21, 2011 will be voted on and approvals announced by Dec. 31, 2011.

In addition to Boehler's recent appointment, in 2006 he was appointed chair of the ANSI A92.6 subcommittee, responsible for the U.S. standard for self-propelled elevating work platforms. He is also involved with other global standards development organizations, and is currently the chair of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) Manufacturer's Technical Committee.
