Vermeer Corp. sees growth opportunities in the rental market and has taken steps to modify its business operations to place more focus and resources into the rental industry. From enhanced manufacturing and design work, to increased staffing and marketing dollars, Vermeer is making a $1 million investment internally to support the rental market.

In the past, Vermeer struggled to develop a product line that met both the robust contractor requirements, yet fit within the rental market price point, a company release says. Vermeer is taking a new approach and will concentrate engineering resources to design equipment that will meet the specific needs, desires and price points of the rental customer.

Due to long-term dedication to lean manufacturing, Vermeer is benefiting from significant cost efficiencies. This has allowed Vermeer to maintain, and in some cases, lower prices on some of its most popular rental equipment, including  the Vermeer RTX100, RTX150 and RT200 pedestrian trenchers.

Vermeer is also taking steps to dedicate additional staff resources to the rental market in an effort to help dealers with marketing and sales efforts, and enhance our interaction with global accounts. These additional resources will increase our commitment to dedicated staff support before and after the sale.
