Heavy Equipment Rentals, LLC has acquired the assets of All American Rentals, with locations in Northern California.
Heavy Equipment Rentals, established in 1999 and based in Corona, CA, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Porter Hire Ltd., headquartered in New Zealand. For over 75 years, the Porter Family has been New Zealand’s premier earthmoving machinery sales and service provider, offering machine sales, rentals, parts, and transportation services for: construction, mining, and the rental industry. Known officially as the Porter Group, they are recognized and respected as New Zealand’s largest and most progressive earthmoving firm. Today the Porter Group consists of eight major nationwide companies that trade worldwide. With a rental fleet in excess of 2500 units over 30 locations, the Porter Group is regarded as the largest independent rental company in the Southern Hemisphere.
All American Rentals, owned by industry veteran Mike Carter, has been in business since 2000 and is headquartered in Newark, CA. All American also has a location in West Sacramento, CA, and had a longstanding presence in San Jose, CA. All American’s San Francisco niche operations were not part of the sale.
“It was a difficult decision to sell the company, but with the strength and backing of the Porter family along with my background in heavier equipment, it was a really solid fit with HER and I’m thrilled for our employees and our customers alike. Fred certainly found the right buyer for the company,” said Mike Carter, who will remain with the company as Northern California region manager.
Fred Hageman, principal of Rental Acquisitions, LLC, facilitated the transaction and represented All American Rentals. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
