Kohler Generators has expanded its presence throughout northern Illinois by signing an updated distribution agreement for its residential and light commercial products with Total Energy Systems, LLC., De Pere, WI. Prior to the new agreement, Total Energy Systems already represented Kohler Generators in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, and western Michigan. Total Energy Systems’ territory will now expand into northern Illinois where the distributor will team with Steiner Electric Company, Elk Grove Village, Ill., to provide an enhanced level of market coverage and customer support for residential consumers as well as small business owners throughout the region.

“We’re excited about Total Energy Systems working in tandem with Steiner Electric to serve our residential and light commercial customers in northern Illinois because it’s a robust market with significant demand for backup power – among homeowners and small businesses alike,” said Justin Blount, vice president and general manager of residential/light commercial products for Kohler Generators. “We’ve had double-digit growth over the past year and we certainly remain optimistic as we look towards the future. Everyone in northern Illinois who turns to Kohler Generators for backup power will definitely benefit from our new ‘one-two-punch’ approach in the market.”

An automatic standby generator is permanently installed outside a home or small business, similar to a central air conditioning unit, and runs on natural gas or propane using existing gas lines. When utility power is lost, a standby generator automatically turns on – there is no need to be present to start or refuel the generator. Depending upon specific needs, a standby generator can power critical and sophisticated appliances and systems, including lights, heating/cooling systems, refrigerators, sump pumps, security systems and more.
