As part of its strategy to deliver the best customer experience, United Rentals Inc. announced that it has appointed Chris Hummel as senior vice president and chief marketing officer, effective immediately.
Hummel brings more than two decades of senior management experience to United Rentals. He most recently served as chief marketing officer of Schneider Electric SE, with responsibility for the development and implementation of Schneider’s global marketing strategy. Previously, Hummel held positions as chief commercial officer and president with Unify Inc., where he was instrumental in transforming the company’s go-to-market model as a rebranding of Siemens Enterprise Communications. Earlier, he served in senior marketing positions with global software manufacturer SAP SE, and spent 13 years in sales, marketing and business development leadership roles with Oracle Corporation.

Hummel holds a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, as well as a bachelor’s degree from Tufts.
