United Rentals has introduced two new features to its digital suite aimed at simplifying the equipment rental process: Smart Suggestions and Equipment Fit Augmented Reality (AR).
Smart Suggestions uses machine learning to recommend equipment based on order history, jobsite data, and industry trends. The tool is designed to help contractors quickly identify rental needs and cut time spent searching catalogs.
Equipment Fit AR allows users to place 3D models of equipment on a jobsite through a mobile device. The feature helps confirm fit and placement, particularly in tight or restricted areas. It is currently available for select categories, with more planned.
Both tools were developed with feedback from contractors and operations teams across North America. They add to the company’s expanding digital platform, which enables customers to browse, reserve, and manage rentals from any device.
