Chevrolet previewed its planned Alaskan Edition package as a concept vehicle with custom stainless-steel snow plow and special paint scheme.

The actual Alaskan Edition offered on 2017 Silverado HD Work Truck and LT models will include an available snowplow prep package with leveling kit to ensure an even stance for the truck when the plow is attached. The package includes 18-in. wheels with max-traction DuraTrac tires, smoked amber roof marker lights, a spray-on bedliner and distinctive graphics.

The snowplow prep package is offered across the model range and includes a power feed for auxiliary lights, 220-amp alternator, underbody shield, heavy-duty front springs and more. Rubberized floor covering makes it easier to brush out snow and ice.

The Alaskan Edition concept got upgraded with a custom stainless-steel plow and silver-accented blue exterior and grizzly bear graphics. It also features chrome bumpers, grille, emblems and trailering mirrors, along with 20-inch chrome wheels.

The next-generation Duramax 6.6L V-8 turbodiesel engine offered in the 2017 Silverado HD lineup delivers more horsepower and torque than ever – an SAE-certified 445 hp and net 910 lb.-ft. of torque – for more confident hauling, trailering and pushing.
