Buildots has launched the Buildots Intelligence Lab, an AI-powered research hub designed to provide construction professionals with free access to industry benchmarks, productivity metrics and project insights based on aggregated, anonymized data.

The research hub is intended to help contractors and project teams compare project performance, evaluate trade productivity and better understand scheduling trends using standardized data. The Lab organizes its research into three categories: metrics, which provide standardized performance measurements; benchmarks, which compare performance across sectors, regions and trades; and insights, which identify trends and recurring project patterns.
Among its initial findings, the Lab reports a 20% to 50% gap between planned and actual weekly mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) output on data center projects, highlighting a common source of schedule delays. The research also found schedule adherence varies significantly by project type, with healthcare projects averaging the highest performance, followed by data centers, while commercial, industrial and education projects reported lower adherence rates.
Buildots said the Intelligence Lab will publish research on an ongoing basis and is inviting construction professionals, researchers and analysts to submit questions and topics for future analysis.
