Minnesota's Governor Mark Dayton has proposed the state borrow $1.4 billion to pay for more than 100 state public projects. The bonding request includes $343 million for construction at public college campuses, $32 million to renovate the 10th Avenue Bridge, $42 million to replace the Kellogg Boulevard Bridge and $70 million to renovate and add on to the Minnesota Security Hospital.
The Governor's team noted 35% of the projects would be in the Twin Cities, 35% spread throughout the rest of the state and 30% are statewide projects.
Governor Dayton's administration says the fully enacted bonding proposal would create 39,000 jobs for the state, mostly in construction.
