FAA Predicts Airport Construction to Fall 3% Over Next Five Years

FAA projects airport construction will fall 3% - or $1 billion - from the previous 2014 report

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is projecting airport construction to fall slightly over the next five years. However, it should remain at a substantial $32.5 billion despite the projected $1 billion dip (or 3%) from the 2014.

According to an FAA report sent to Congress in September, the FAA says the dollar volume of projects to refurbish runways and other airfield pavement and expand or renovate terminals will rise 3% from the previous five-year estimate while projects designed to boost capacity will decline by 24%.
