NJ Politicians Propose Plans to Expand Apprenticeship Programs through P3 Funding

US Representative Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) says we need to rethink and change the higher education system and the lack of training for lifelong careers

Federal and state politicians in New Jersey are looking to fill skilled labor jobs through expansion of apprenticeship programs using public-private partnership (P3) funding.

U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) says that the goal to send the future work force through college rather than offer various routes to lifelong careers needs to be rethought. “We need to reimagine our entire higher education system,” he said. “I think that we are really falling behind. This idea of training people for jobs that don’t exist anymore is just not acceptable. We are in, no exaggeration, we are in a crisis point in America right now.”
