Wacker Neuson to Hold Second Annual Concrete Trowel Challenge

Customized ride-on trowel to be grand prize for Wacker Neuson's World of Concrete Operator's Challenge.

MENOMONEE FALLS, WI - What started as a challenge between friends has turned into one of the most popular (and rewarding) events at World of Concrete. Wacker Neuson Corporation will hold its second annual concrete trowel challenge during World of Concrete 2010, giving away a customized Wacker Neuson ride-on trowel powered by Vanguard as the top prize.

Held in Wacker Neuson's outdoor exhibit, the ride-on trowel challenge tests the operator's entire range of skills as the participant maneuvers around an obstacle course that weaves throughout a 2,000 square foot concrete slab. The 2009 trowel challenge winner, John Dekryger of Dekryger Concrete of Fremont, Michigan finished the course in less than 30 seconds.

To further test the operator's skills in 2010, the judges have added a few more course obstacles and an impact penalty meter to reward operator finesse. All registered World of Concrete contractor attendees are eligible to compete on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Preliminary trowel challenge competitions will be held at World of Concrete during show hours on Tuesday through Thursday, February 2-4, 2010. The top 10 times from the preliminaries will advance to the finals on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. and compete for the grand prize: the customized Wacker Neuson CRT 48-35VX ride-on concrete trowel, powered by Vanguard.

The 2010 ride-on concrete trowel challenge grand prize has been donated by a joint venture between Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power and Wacker Neuson. The Briggs & Stratton engine application center built a special V-twin Vanguard Big Block engine featuring tuned exhaust and other custom components for the CRT 48-35VX.

Contractors in select U.S. cities will be able to see this Wacker Neuson - Briggs & Stratton special edition ride-on trowel in person as it follows a tour route to World of Concrete. The ride-on trowel will be on display at jobsites and during Wacker Neuson dealer events from November 2009 until it reaches its final destination - World of Concrete 2010, in Las Vegas.

Wacker Neuson will hand out free exhibits-only admission certificates to World of Concrete at every dealer event. Additionally, one lucky contractor per event will be registered as a semifinalist for a free airfare and hotel stay trip package to World of Concrete, donated by the sponsors of World of Concrete. The trip package winner will be drawn on January 8, 2010.

Contractors can receive instant updates about the special edition ride-on trowel's journey by following TrowelMaster on Twitter.
