University of San Nicolas Hidalgo professor Jose Carlos Rubio has created a light-emitting cement that

The modified micro-structure of the cement helps it absorb solar energy and return it as light. The cement can be used in buildings, roads and other structures. It will absorb solar energy during the day and emit it for around 12 hours during the night. And, since this new cement is sun resistant it has an estimated 100-year lifespan.
