Flooding at Capital Sand and other Jefferson City, Mo., sand plants has disrupted operations for local concrete contractors who depend on sand as a main ingredient in concrete.
Scott Martin from Scott's Concrete tells local news station KRCG 13 that he hasn't received sand from his usual suppliers since May 22, resulting in the loss of thousands. Martin is now sending trucks to procure sand in Lexington, Mo., or Shawnee, Kan., driving up costs.
