The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Halsted as its Pacific Northwest/Western Canada Regional Manager, effective February 1, 2012.

Mr. Halsted, who had recently been on the Pavements staff with the Portland Cement Association (PCA), will be responsible for promoting the use of reinforced concrete construction in the building, bridges, and paving markets. He will support the CRSI Western Region through engineering, marketing, and promotional activities to achieve an increase in the market share for reinforcing steel usage.

"The addition of Mr. Halsted, with his experience in pavements and industry promotion, further strengthens both our regional and national ability to be a leader in the industry and meet the needs of our members," noted Robert J. Risser, President and CEO of CRSI.

Before joining CRSI, Mr. Halsted was a Market Manager for PCA, responsible for the design and construction technical services assistance, marketing, and promotion of all cement-based pavement materials. Prior to PCA, he worked as a Technical Services Manager for the Georgia Department of Transportation and has knowledge of planning, design, materials testing, and construction.

Mr. Halsted has participated in numerous training and construction workshops involving State and Provincial transportation agencies, Public Works departments, Universities, material suppliers, and consulting firms.
