The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s video Jobsite Chute Rinse-off has been awarded the 2018 Communicator Distinction Award by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). The Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals, with AIVA receiving over 6,000 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes. They are judged and overseen by AIVA’s 600+ members that include PureMatter, Condè Nast, Disney, Republica, Sesame Workshop, MTV, Starbucks, Time Inc., Tribal DDB, Yahoo! and many others.

Jobsite Chute Rinse-off was created at the direction of NRMCA’s Operations and Compliance Division. The videographer on the project was Thunder Bay Productions and it was filmed at NRMCA Producer member Jack B. Parson, a CRH Company, in Draper, Utah. The video instructs mixer drivers about the various methods to get their chutes clean while not violating environmental regulations. It also discusses the driver’s responsibility to adapt to each jobsite’s requirements and when to notify his or her company if there is a problem. Finally, the lesson points out that chute rinse-off plays a role in fleet maintenance as well as being a safety factor since correctly rinsing a chute prevents debris from hitting other vehicles as the mixer returns to the plant. It is available for purchase in two formats, streaming 24/7 and DVD (click here to view a preview).

“Winning this award continues the Association’s commitment to constantly communicate the latest information, products, services and programs to help our members expand their markets and improve their operations, while supporting workforce performance,” says NRMCA President Robert Garbini.
