Trimble has launched SketchUp Pro Civil Contractor, a software solution that connects SketchUp 3D modeling with the Trimble Siteworks positioning system and Trimble Earthworks grade control platform.
Designed for contractors performing earthwork, grading and utility construction, the software allows users to create 3D earthwork models in SketchUp and transfer them to field and machine-control workflows.
The connected workflow carries a digital model from design through site layout, construction and verification. Contractors can create 3D terrain models, calculate earthwork volumes, transfer model data and geolocated points to Siteworks for layout, and convert SketchUp surfaces into designs for Trimble Earthworks on excavators.
The software is available as an annual subscription to Trimble Siteworks users through the SketchUp e-commerce store.
