Topcon Positioning Systems and GreenValley International (GVI) have entered a strategic agreement to collaborate on spatial intelligence technologies for surveying, mapping, construction and forestry applications.

The partnership aims to develop integrated hardware and software solutions for handheld, aerial and mobile LiDAR data collection and processing. Planned innovations include developments in robotic systems, autonomous monitoring solutions and real-time cloud-based data processing and transfer.

"Collaborating with GreenValley allows us to combine the strengths of both organizations and deliver simpler, more efficient workflows to more professionals," said Ron Oberlander, head of the Topcon Geomatics and Construction Platforms. "By advancing joint research and integrating emerging AI technologies into spatial solutions, we aim to help users collect, process and apply data more effectively, even in remote and challenging environments."

The collaboration will focus on AI-enhanced point cloud processing, which includes automated feature extraction and classification, multi-sensor integration and intelligent workflow automation to maximize the value of geospatial data.

"This alliance unites GVI’s spatial intelligence expertise with Topcon’s precise positioning technologies to deliver next-generation solutions for the global geospatial community," said Cody McColl, North American operations manager with GreenValley International.

The agreement was announced during the Esri User Conference in San Diego. GVI, headquartered in Berkeley, California, specializes in 3D data capture and AI-enabled workflow solutions for infrastructure, utilities and industrial inspection. Topcon Positioning Systems, based in Livermore, provides precision technologies for the global construction, geomatics and agriculture markets.
