Caterpillar Inc. on Monday announced 50 more layoffs at its East Peoria, IL, plant.
The news follows last week’s announcement of the indefinite layoff of 120 workers at the plant, and is the third round of Caterpillar layoffs in East Peoria. In January, 120 employees were laid off there.
Caterpillar also layed off 150 workers at its Decatur, IL, plant in May, citing weak demand for the mining equipment manufactured there.
