AC Business Media, a business-to-business media company headquartered in Fort Atkinson, WI, fulfilled holiday wishes this season with a donation of $10,000 to charities chosen by and in the name of its employees. AC Business Media's portfolio of construction industry publications includes Equipment Today, Asphalt Contractor, Pavement Maintenance & Reconstruction, Concrete Contractor, Sustainable Construction, Rental and OEM Off-Highway magazines, digital properties including ForConstructionPros.com and OEMOffHighway.com, and related industry events.

“We asked our employees to submit two charities they were passionate about, one local and one non-local, each to receive a $5,000 donation,” says Carl Wistreich, President and CEO of AC Business Media. “We feel it is important to give back to our community and spread holiday cheer to those in need.”

Employees voted on the list of charities to determine the winning organizations. Tomorrow’s Hope, submitted by Kayla Brown and April Van Etten, was selected to receive the local charity donation. Tomorrow's Hope works to foster health-related research, education and support activities that have a direct impact on area individuals touched by Alzheimer's, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and other life-limiting illnesses.

“Our donation will mean a lot to this organization and will go a long way,” says Brown. “A very high percentage of donations goes right to the community and healthcare needs.”

The second organization selected to receive a donation was Make-A-Wish Foundation, submitted by Debee Westby. Every 37 minutes, Make-A-Wish grants the wish of a child who has been diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition. Volunteers connect with wish children and personalize each wish to make it match the child’s idea of a perfect day.

Supporting the community and those in need is part of the culture of AC Business Media’s employees; it’s a year-round effort. They have sponsored several food drives to support local food banks and adopted two families from the Jefferson County Christmas Neighbors program this holiday season.

“We believe in making the world a better place and supporting charities that are close to us,” says Wistreich. “Our employees truly live out our mission to make a difference and leave a legacy behind.”
