The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) is helping construction and rental professionals demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and save money at the same time. Purchasers of Kohler’s new propane-powered mobile generators or Magnum’s MLT4000S Solar Hybrid Light Tower can now receive significant incentives that make this high-performance, environmentally friendly equipment more affordable.
The mobile generators and light tower are the latest products to be included in PERC’s Propane Heat & Power Incentive Program, which encourages construction professionals, homeowners, and businesses to adopt new propane-fueled products for residential and commercial use.
“Unlike diesel, propane does not degrade over time, reducing fuel-related performance problems,” said Bridget Kidd, PERC’s director of residential and commercial programs. “Propane also emits fewer carbon dioxide emissions and toxic pollutants, improving air quality and worker safety. We’re pleased to provide professionals with valuable incentives that can help them integrate more sustainable, reliable equipment into their daily operations.”
Construction and rental professionals can receive $1,000 to $8,500 toward the purchase of a propane-fueled Kohler mobile generator through the Propane Heat & Power Incentive Program. Developed in cooperation with PERC, the 125REZGT model is currently available, with other propane-powered models to be introduced in the future. The 125REZGT features an on-board propane tank, providing power even when an on-site LP gas supply isn’t available.
A $3,500 incentive is available on purchases of the MLT4000S Solar Hybrid Light Tower from Magnum Power Products. During the day, a solar-panel array charges the light tower’s batteries for nighttime operation. If cloudy or inclement weather prevents the batteries from fully charging, a propane-powered Generac generator turns on automatically and recharges the batteries until the solar panels can take over.
The Propane Heat & Power Incentive Program provides a financial incentive to qualifying and select participants who purchase and use eligible propane-fueled products such as premium generator sets, combined heat and power systems, pest control systems, hybrid light towers, and mobile generators. In return, participants agree to share their experiences, giving PERC valuable information to identify training needs and supplement future propane product development.
