Volvo Rents Acquires Wyoming Chain Nelico

Rental chain adds Nelico's three stores in Mills and Rock Springs, and a contractor supply location in Casper, WY

Volvo Rents has announced the acquisition of Nelico Equipment Service and Supplies, a three-store regional chain with construction equipment rental branches in Mills and Rock Springs, and a contractor supply location in Casper, WY.

“Generally, in any market where oil and gas drilling is taking place, we’re seeing an uptick in rentals,” Mike Crouch, vice president of business  development for Volvo Rents, was quoted, noting Wyoming’s mineral commodities include coal, natural gas, coalbed methane, crude oil, uranium and trona. “This obviously puts us in a very favorable position as we continue to expand our footprint throughout Wyoming.”

In addition to Volvo Rents’ expanding line of Volvo compact equipment - such as backhoe and skid steers, compact wheel loaders, compact excavators and compaction equipment – the more than 7,000-square-foot rental center carries a line of equipment and tools for the construction, commercial, industrial and homeowner markets. The focus is on daily, weekly and monthly rentals.

”I have great admiration for the integrity of the Volvo Rents management team and their commitment to local decision-making. The company’s culture of taking care of its employees and customers made becoming part of Volvo Rents an attractive and easy decision,” said Carl Nelson, who founded Nelico in 1994. “Volvo Rents is embarking on a significant expansion and I look forward to helping facilitate that growth.”

Nelson will remain active with the operations/management of all three locations as general manager. All 30 of Nelico’s employees will remain employed by Volvo Rents.

Nelico has a branch in Cheyenne that was not part of the transaction.
