Boehner Plans House Vote to Raise Taxes on Million-Dollar Earners

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) plans to bring to a vote what he calls "Plan B" in budget talks, which includes his proposal to extend expiring tax breaks for all Americans except those who earn more than $1 million a year.

It's an abrupt shift after President Obama's most recent proposal offered to extend the tax breaks for household income less than $400,000, increased from the $250,000 threshold on which he had campaigned.

The White House dismissed Boehner's Plan B, suggesting that the democrat-controlled Senate would not approve it. The Senate has already passed a bill that would extend the tax breaks for household income less than $250,000.
