New Leadership at Briggs & Stratton

The board of directors of Briggs & Stratton Corporation appointed David J. Rodgers as senior vice president and president - engines group, and Mark A. Schwertfeger as senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective August 17, 2015.

Earlier this month, the board of directors of Briggs & Stratton Corporation appointed David J. Rodgers as senior vice president and president - engines group, and Mark A. Schwertfeger as senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective August 17, 2015. In their new roles, Rodgers is replacing Joseph C. Wright, who is leaving the company, and Schwertfeger is replacing Rodgers. Schwertfeger will serve as the company’s principal financial officer and principal accounting officer.

Rodgers, 44, has served as the company’s senior vice president and chief financial officer since 2010. He previously served as vice president - finance during 2010 and as controller from 2006 until 2010. Prior to joining the company, he was vice president - corporate controller of Roundy’s Supermarkets Inc. 

Schwertfeger, 38, has served as a vice president of the company since September 2014, as principal accounting officer since November 2014, and as controller since 2010. He previously served as international controller of the company since 2008. Prior to joining the company, he held the position of director at KPMG LLP. 

The company is in discussions with Wright regarding the terms of his departure.
