Caterpillar is considering consolidating two of its East Peoria manufacturing facilities which would impact about 230 office and production jobs over the next couple of years.
In addition to consolidating plants HH and KK in East Peoria, Caterpillar is also considering moving some production of mining and construction equipment components out of its East Peoria campus to other suppliers and Caterpillar facilities.
If Cat decides to proceed with moving production of the components the transition would begin in early 2016 with completion in 2018.
Cat intends to finalize its decision in early 2016.
