True Value Rental Offerings Showcased at Midwest Regional Demo Day

True Value brought together more than 100 supplier representatives, rental operators and store associates to take part in its second regional Rental Demo Day event in Menomonee Falls, WI.

True Value Company’s rental team continues to offer a variety of tools, resources and programs to help its rental operators drive more customers to their stores and be successful in their rental business in 2012 despite the challenging economy. Most recently, the team brought together more than 100 supplier representatives, rental operators and store associates to take part in its second regional Rental Demo Day event in Menomonee Falls, WI.

“This hands-on product demonstration speaks to our continued commitment to support our rental operators in ways that are meaningful to their operations and helpful in the training of their associates,” said Eric Lane, True Value’s vice president, Specialty Businesses. “The event was an efficient way to make it convenient and easy for our rental operators to have access to a broad range of suppliers from which they could collect a wealth of knowledge about the equipment that help grow the business.”

At the Midwest region event, participating suppliers introduced the newest features of their 2012 rental products, leveraging the expansive amount of land at the Wacker Neuson facility to demonstrate all types of construction, excavation, event rental and general tool equipment. Rental operators sought out the opportunity to not only check out the latest in rental equipment, services and technology, but to also network and exchange ideas with other rental businesses.

“I considered Demo Day the perfect venue for many reasons, including the one-on-one atmosphere with suppliers and the convenience of seeing a number of suppliers in one location,” said Bob Nowicki, owner of Roscoe True Value & Just Ask Rental in Roscoe, IL. “In addition, the ability to learn about the operation, maintenance and safety of my rental equipment and get a first peak at all the new equipment available to me and my customers made this event worthwhile for me.”

Added Wacker Neuson’s Strategic Business Development Manager Tim Lickel, "True Value has the right idea! Demo day offers its members the opportunity to operate or see the equipment demonstrated in their proper application. After trying out a piece of equipment they can compare the performance against what they currently have in their fleet or similar products in the industry. Wacker Neuson is a firm believer in ‘Try before you buy’ which is not the norm at typical trade shows."

Attendees also were encouraged to take the opportunity to learn about three great new programs available to them through the True Value Rental Program. Attendees were able to:

  • Learn about the premier rental website program from New Media Retailer to deliver the website and social media programs rental customers are looking for.
  • Take a look at the new True Value Rental print advertising program with templates for customizable circulars, postcards, sell sheets and brochures that make it easier to advertise to their customers with a year-round marketing plan.
  • Talk to IronPlanet, the world's leading online auction marketplace for used equipment, about selling their used equipment online.

But the Rental Demo Day wasn’t all about business, Warner Shelter Systems Ltd. sponsored a tent set-up competition, whose winners assembled a 20-foot-by-20-foot high peak marquee tent in 6 minutes and 18 seconds. Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. hosted a tour of their headquarters to show rental operators how new products progress from concepts to production.

True Value, along with sponsors Anchor Industries Inc., Bosch, Bobcat Company, Graco, Husqvarna-Bluebird, Husqvarna Construction, Milwaukee Power Tools, the Toro Company, Warner Shelter Systems Ltd. and Wacker Neuson Corporation, hosted the Rental Demo Day together with 30 suppliers, including Aztec Tents, Barreto Manufacturing, Billy Goat Industries, Bil-Jax/Haulotte, Ditch Witch, DOSKO, EDIC, Electric Eel Manufacturing, Genie, Ground Hog,  Hilti, Iron & Oak, IronPlanet, Mi-T-M, MK Diamond, Porta-Nails, Q.E.P., Schiller Grounds Care, Subaru, Terex, Tippmann Sports, Titan, Vermeer Corporation and Volvo Construction Equipment.
