In response to company growth, Point-of-Rental Systems continues to seek qualified rental professionals. Two of the rental software company’s most recent hires are Kyle Landua of U Rent It Sales & Service and Ed Hewitt of Dallas Party Tent & Event.

Landua, son of current TRA president Mark Landua and grandson of URI proprietors David and Shirley Landua, was a Point-of-Rental user at his family’s business in Terrell, TX, where he worked while attending school. A recent graduate of the University of North Texas, he found that the customer support department at Point-of-Rental offered a great fit for utilizing both his hands-on rental experience and skills acquired in college. “When customers call in with problems, I am able to understand what is going on and walk them through the steps they need to take,” Landua said.

Hewitt, also a Point-of-Rental user before coming to work for the company, served as the general manager for Regal Rent (Classic Party Rentals) in California, M&M Special Events in Dallas, and Dallas Party Tent & Event in Arlington, TX. “When I first came into the event business, I started at the bottom and worked my way from an inventory manager, warehouse manager, and operations manager to general manager,” Hewitt said. He says this experience serves him well in his current position in software training and support. “By teaching others to use Point-of-Rental, I see how the software eliminates a lot of issues I used to face. With customer service support and onsite training, I am able to help resolve companies’ issues, allowing them to run their businesses more efficiently. It allows me to do what I love to do—help companies grow.”

Landua and Hewitt are among a large majority of Point-of-Rental employees who worked elsewhere in the rental industry before joining the software company. Point-of-Rental president and CEO Wayne Harris, himself formerly an employee in his family’s rental store, indicated that the company favors those with rental experience. “We have found that those with a working knowledge of the industry can hit the ground running when they come to work for us,” he said. “Besides that, this industry tends to produce very upstanding individuals — exactly the type of people Point-of-Rental wants to carry on the legacy of integrity on which this company was built.”
