New York’s first green energy, arts and education center just got one step closer to being built thanks to a $1.25 million grant. New York City Council has awarded Solar One, a non-profit organization, the grant to go towards the funding of the city’s first LEED-Platinum certified, energy positive building. This grant is in addition to the $6.1 million raised to date to meet the $10 million necessary to commence construction.
