Construction work of the Minnesota Vikings stadium was shutdown Wednesday after the tragic death of one worker and serious injury of a second worker. The two workers were employees of St. Paul-based Berwald Roofing Co. One worker, identified by a source as Jeramie Gruber fell about 50 feet from the edge of the north side roof into a snow gutter. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Hennepin County Medical Center.
The second worker, who was not identified, was seriously injured while working on the roof. Few other details about the accident were available.
Gruber's death was the first fatality at the construction site.
