The commercial construction industry is aiming to make history at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 with a Guinness World Records attempt for the most people wearing high-visibility vests. The attempt is scheduled for March 3, 2026, during the show’s opening ceremony at the Las Vegas Convention Center and is intended to surpass the current record of 2,499 participants.
Organizers plan to gather thousands of attendees wearing orange safety vests as a visual representation of the construction industry’s scale and collective impact. The effort highlights the role construction plays across transportation, utilities, public works and other infrastructure that shapes daily life across North America.
CONEXPO-CON/AGG runs March 3–7, 2026, and is expected to draw tens of thousands of attendees and exhibitors from around the world. The event focuses on construction equipment, technology and industry issues ranging from workforce development to innovation and safety.
“This record attempt is more than a number — it’s a celebration of the people who build and maintain the infrastructure we all rely on,” said Dana Wuesthoff, show director for CONEXPO-CON/AGG. Guinness World Records adjudicator Michael Empric said the event represents an opportunity for the construction community to come together while setting a new world record centered on safety awareness.
