
SLABS by The Slab Designer is an online slab-on-ground design tool that uses advanced modeling to account for factors often not included in other design methods. Those include slab curling, loss of support, joint behavior, load transfer and fiber reinforcement.
Built on the ISLAB2000 finite element model, the platform uses a neural network trained on more than 1.3 million analyses to generate stress predictions quickly, allowing users to evaluate multiple design options in less time.
The tool allows engineers, specifiers and contractors to compare unreinforced, strategically reinforced, fiber-reinforced and shrinkage-compensating slab designs under the same loading and support conditions. The side-by-side comparisons are meant to help identify the most appropriate slab design based on project loading and serviceability requirements.
