World of Concrete is the only international trades show dedicated to the commercial concrete and masonry industries in 2016. It intends to jumpstart the new year with innovations and expert know-how from more exhibitors than the 2015 edition of the event.
World of Concrete 2015 attracted more than 55,000 professional registrants and showcased just over 1,400 leading suppliers. Nearly 56,000 construction pros are pre-registered for the 2016 event, with almost 1,500 exhibitors filling more than 675,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space.
The 2016 show offers special product and action areas, including:
- The Producer Center, a marketplace of materials, equipment, demos, and seminars for concrete producers;
- Material Handling, offering trucks, excavators and more for material delivery, distribution, concrete placement, and earthmoving;
- Concrete Repair & Demolition, housing a display of surface preparation equipment, scarifying, sawing equipment, concrete repair, and other demolition products;
- World of Masonry, showcasing products, tools, information, and technology for masonry professionals;
- Technology for Construction, featuring the newest products and tools for the commercial construction industry from top information technology and systems providers; and
- Concrete Surfaces & Decorative Pavilion showcasing the popularity of decorative concrete for both commercial and residential applications including concrete coatings, waterproofing products and technologies.
New for 2016, WOC will launch a new area on the show floor for precast concrete, highlighting products and technologies in the precast/prestressed sector.
The Education Program will feature:
- WOC 3-Hour Seminars: 31 comprehensive seminars – six designated tracks – eight of which are new for WOC 2016
- WOC 90-Minute Seminars: 50 seminars – 29 new for WOC 2016 – nine tracks including Masonry, Residential, Safety, and Engineering
- WOC 4-Hour Certification Seminars & Examinations: eight certifications offered by industry associations – ACI, ACPA, CFA, ICRI, and TCA
- WOC Hands-On Training Events: four training experiences – place/finish floors, surveying with total stations, stamped concrete, and new concrete fundamentals focusing on mix design and field testing
- WOC Interactive Workshops & Live Demonstration: nine workshops including train-the-trainer, boot camps, and live demonstrations
- Three Construction Boot Camps for Field Management will address business management challenges in all-day workshops tailored for management-level professionals.
- Three Technical Workshops with Live Demonstrations extend learning beyond the classroom with expert-led live demonstrations highlighting different concrete applications.
For the 11th consecutive year, the U.S. Department of Commerce has selected the World of Concrete as a participant in the International Buyer Program (IBP). WOC draws significant attendance at each event working with the Department of Commerce Commercial Services posts from around the world. World of Concrete welcomes international exhibitors to sell their concrete- and masonry-related products and services as well as international attendee delegations from across the globe.
