Metabo, a German international manufacturer of professional-grade cordless and corded handheld power tools and accessories in the U.S., has introduced new 18V cordless drill/driver and hammer drills.
“We are proud to introduce our new line-up of three speed 18V metalworking drill/drivers and hammer drills. There are four new tool models, three drill/drivers and one hammer drill in a total of nine configurations. This includes bare tools without a case or with a stackable metaBOX 145L carrying case, or if you prefer a kit, we offer the bare tool, two batteries, a charger in a case,” said Joseph Masters, Metabo’s senior product manager.
The new drill/driver and hammer drill models include BS 18 LTX-3 BL Q I (603184840/850, US603185520), BS 18 LTX-3 BL I Metal (603181840), BS 18 LTX-3 BL Q I Metal (603180840/620) drill/drivers and the SB 18 LTX-3 BL Q I (603185840/850, US603185520) hammer drill.
The drill/drivers and hammer drill have a maximum tightening torque of 1,150 ft.-lbs. The tools feature impulse mode, which helps set and remove screws. They also include 12 different speed and torque settings, which are accessible via a thumb dial. The drill/drivers and hammer drill can drill up to 5/8 in. in steel or 2-5/8 in. in wood and have a three-speed range of 0-450/0-2000/0-4000 with the third gear optimizing the tool for performance in metal. The hammer drill has an impact rate of 38,000 bpm and can drill up to 5/8 in. in masonry.
These drills include drill chucks with Metabo’s new quick plus release system. The drill/drivers and hammer drills also include gyroscopic anti-kickback control which protect the end-user. The tools contain Metabo’s second generation brushless motor.
Other features include an updated tool housing design. The tools also contain two integrated LED work lights to illuminate the work area and a rubber-coated non-slip grip.
The new drill/drivers and hammer drills support a variety of applications from standard wood applications to manufacturing of metal windows, doors, facades, paneling, canopies and railings.
