Building with Wood and Glue

Since humans started building we've always been looking for new ways to build and new materials to use. The Metropol Parasol in Seville, Spain, is one recent example. The structure houses a museum, restaurant and farmer's market and is constructed from wood and glue. Although it conjures up ideas of building Popsicle stick houses as a kid (and other people are ready to devour the building due to it's resemblance to a waffle) the structure, designed by J. Mayer H. Architects, is built from bonded timber with a polyurethane coating. The materials make the building not only the largest wooden building in the world, but it's also the largest structure held together by glue.
