The polished concrete installation at the new US Naval Academy Commissary in Annapolis, MD, was a challenging project due to tight time constraints and weather conditions. The 32,000-sq.-ft. installation received a sand aggregate cut, dye and polish to an 800 grit resin. Maryland was experiencing record lows with temperatures dropping to zero at night. The building’s HVAC system was not operational, resulting in slab temperatures well below freezing. Cuviello Concrete dealt with all of these challenges while meeting the original deadline. This video shows how Cuviello Concrete kept the polyurea joint fill warm, sealed off openings and overcame other hurdles to successfully complete the installation.
