NCCER Releases Gold Card for Certified Craft Professionals

Certified contractors can use the Gold Card to provide instant verification of their credentials

The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) released the new Gold Card, a picture card for all candidates who earn a certification through one of NCCER's Mobile Crane Operator, Rigger and/or Signal Person Certification Programs. The Gold Card provides each certified professional a unique number, allowing them to verify certification credentials in real time through NCCER's Online Verification. Gold Card users are also able to provide this number to employers and inspectors for instant verification of their NCCER credentials.

NCCER Accredited Assessment Centers (AAC) are endorsed to deliver the certification programs, and are able to upload candidate photos directly into NCCER's Automated National Registry (ANR). The ANR then transmits the photos directly onto the printed, wallet-sized Gold Cards. By becoming an NCCER-endorsed AAC, organizations are able to deliver certification programs directly to their employees, members and clients with the flexibility to schedule them as personnel and equipment are available.

NCCER's Mobile Crane Operator Certification Program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and is formally recognized by OSHA. It offers 13 equipment specific certifications, including capacity. NCCER's Rigger and Signal Person Certification Program offers three levels of rigger certification (Basic Rigger, Intermediate Rigger and Advanced Rigger) and a signal person certification.
