The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) recently announced that Mike Mota, Ph.D., P.E., Faci has been named vice president of engineering. He will now be responsible for overseeing all technical activities performed by CRSI’s engineering staff.
A licensed professional engineer in N.Y., N.J., and Pa., Mike worked for the Portland Cement Association for several years prior to joining CRSI in 2007. He is an active member of several American Concrete Institute (ACI) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) committees. He also serves on the board of directors of the Concrete Industry Board of New York City. Mike was elected an ASCE fellow in 2012. He is also a past member of the Structure magazine editorial board.
“Mike’s years of industry experience made him an appealing candidate for this position,” said Robert Risser, CRSI president and CEO. “His drive and dedication to promoting steel-reinforced concrete construction are an asset to our organization.”
CRSI Names New Vice President of Marketing
In 1987, Mike was the recipient of a $2,500 CRSI educational foundation scholarship to support his undergraduate studies at the N.J. Institute of Technology. His educational journey culminated last year when he received a Ph.D. in structural engineering from Drexel University.
